The Head of the local Department of the Environment, Ricardo García, has presented the programme of events in Calasparra to mark International Environment Day on June 5.
The weekly programme aims to promote awareness of the environment and interest in caring for our natural surroundings and nature as well as promoting good practice for the sustainable development of the planet, says Ricardo Garcia.

SUNDAY MAY 20
8.30am Walking route “El Cordel de Rotos”. Three hours. Graded: Easy.

THURSDAY MAY 31
8pm Official Opening of Exhibition of entries in the Photographic Competition: II Week of the Environment of Calasparra 2018”.

10.30am Educational Activities during the weekly market on Urban Residues.
SATURDAY MAY 2
10am Children´s Workshop making nest boxes for bats as part of the LIFE-RIPISILVANATURA Project
SUNDAY MAY 3
9am Walking route to the Rice Fields leaving from the Tourist Office. Includes visit to the river banks and Isle of Tio Juan Vacas to view activities of the RIPISILVANATURA Project.
Three hours. Graded: easy.
12.20 midday Children´s Street Theatre: “Recycling.”
MONDAY JUNE 4
8pm Presentation of the RIPISILVANATURA Project with documentaries of activities in Calasparra.
TUESDAY JUNE 5
10am Special programme on Radio Calasparra to mark the International Day of the Environment.
