As is traditional the statue of Our Lady of Hope from the Sanctuary will be brought to Calasparra for the month of May in a procession on foot on Thursday May 1.
This is programme for April 30 and May 1:
(Masses and other religious events will be held in various barrios of Calasparra during the month culminating in the procession taking the statue back to the Sanctuary).
Wednesday April 30
12 midday Bell ringing and rockets to announce the arrival tomorrow of the statue.
Thursday May 1
12 midday Bell ringing and rockets
12.15pm Rosary at the Sanctuary
1pm Mass for the «anderos» (those who carry the statue and accompany it).
3.30 to 4.15 Free buses from Calasparra (former Bar Pepon) to Sanctuary
5pm Procession to Calasparra on foot from the Sanctuary with the statue of Our Lady of Hope
7pm Rondalla perform at the gates of the Caverina Football Ground
8pm Meeting of the Statue of Our Lady of Hope and the statues of the Patron Saints of Calasparra.
Procession to Merced Church where the Rociero Choir will sing the Salve
Arrival at St Peters Church – Fireworks
