As part of the celebrations marking the Donation of Calasparra to the Order of San Juan the “keys of the city” are presented to local residents who have made a special contribution to their town.
This year the residents receiving this honour will be members of the El Molinico Theatre Group principally for their annual reenactment of the Donation of Calasparra but also for “bringing theatre to the people.”
Dr. Enrique Jaén Armand, will also receive the keys «for being one of our most illustrious residents, for his great humanity and for being at the disposal of the Calasparrians as a doctor and for always talking up Calasparra.”
The young scientist, Pablo Álvarez Sánchez will also receive the keys in recognition of his investigative work.
The ceremony will take place on June 9 either in the Municipal Auditorium or in the Sala de Actos at the Town Hall.
