The Civil Protection in Calasparra have warned motorists and pedestrians to navigate the roads and streets of Calasparra with caution as the clear up after yesterday’s storms continues.
The Orange Weather Warning for storms proved a reality yesterday as strong winds, torrential rain, hail, thunder and lightening wreaked havoc in our area.
Fallen trees blocked roads, some buildings in the town centre were damaged, the football ground flooded, and scenes, like the devastation in the Curva Car Park and at El Esparragal, never seen before in Calasparra.
Calasparra Town Hall has expressed gratitude to the Protection Civil, the Local Police, the Municipal Services team and the firemen from the Regional Fire and Rescue Squad who worked throughout the orange alert in Calasparra.

Even though this episode is over the Town Hall recommends extreme caution during the next few hours, especially in areas where water has accumulated and close to slopes, cornices, trees and other elements that may have been damaged by the rain and wind.
As a precaution parks and the cemetery have been closed until conditions are considered safe.
