The Town Hall has announced that dog owners will be fined 300 euros if they fail to clean up after their dogs when they foul a public area or road in Calasparra.
Local police will redouble efforts to identify and fine offenders as part of a new campaign to clean up the town.
José Velez, Head of Services at the Town Hall, says : “We will do everything necessary to combat this problem and we need the active cooperation of the Calasparrians.”
Dog excrement in the road and public areas has become a major problem for many residents: not only because it is an inconvenience but because it causes infections, particulary in children.
Velez continúes: “We will redouble efforts by the municipal services and the local police. The Town Hall will not be flexible in this matter.”
