In an offer, which they say they are sure Ricardo Garcia will refuse, the opposition Partido Popular has offered to make the United Left
representative into the Mayor of Calasparra.
The PP claim that the governing PSOE party are governing Calasparra “as if they have an absolute majority” when the opposition PP hold the same number of seats and the IU hold the casting vote.
A spokesperson for the PP told a press conference they were considering presenting a “a vote of censor” which was “a democratic and possible option given that the majority of Calasparrians had voted for change, and the PP are prepared to support Ricardo Garcia as Mayor.”.”
The spokesperon assured the Press that “ the representative of the IU will not accept the offer.”
