A famous local recipe, «Arroz y costillejas» (rice with ribs) is featured on the ONCE lottery coupon to be issued on Saturday.
The Mayoress, Teresa García, with the territorial delegate of the ONCE for the Murcia región, Juan Carlos Morejón de Girón Bascuñana, the vice president, María Inmaculada Carrillo, and the Director of the local OAPs Residence, Ana Elena Zapata, officially presented the coupon at the Town Hall yesterday.
The Mayoress underlined the honour for Calasparra to be chosen to represent the Murcia region in a new series of the ONCE entitled “Platos de Cuchara” (an expression for dishes eaten with a spoon).
The charity has also donated two coupons to the Department of Social Services at Calasparra Town Hall, funds from which, if they win, will fund social assistance.
There will be 5.5 million coupons issued.
