From today residents of Calasparra can obtain their “Certificado Digital” from Calasparra Town Hall (and yes, this applies to our British readers who have a padrón and a TIE).
Calasparra Town Hall has reached an agreement of colaboration with the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (responsible for the Digital Certificate) to incorporate a new, free service in the Atención al Ciudadano office.
In this way residents of Calasparra can obtain the certificate without having to leave our municipal area.
The certificate serves as proof of identity and allows the holder to carry out numerous formalities on the Internet, not only locally but with the rest of the public administrations and organisms such as the Agencia Tributaria (Tax Office) and the Seguridad Social (Social Security).
The Digital Certificate is the electronic equivalent of the Identity Document (in the case of UK nationals the TIE) which allows us to identify ourselves and electronically sign for different documents and messages.
From now on Calasparra Town Hall acts as the Oficina de Registro del Certificado (Digital Registry Office for the Digital Certificate). Previously, citizens needed to go to the Internet and access the webpage of the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, where they obtained a “code” which they then had to present to the Town Hall with their DNI/TIE.
The Head of the Department of Local Development, Juan José López Jiménez, has underlined that the development of the electronic administration is a reality and everyday there are more electronic services available. This removes the need to travel and wait queues, which is not recommendable at the moment due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Editors Note
The editorial team at Nexonr has contacted Calasparra Town Hall to check that this service is available to UK nationals resident in Calasparra. We have received the assurance that UK nationals with a “padron” in Calasparra and a TIE (which is the administrative equivalent of the Spanish Identity Card) can use this free service.
