There appears to
be confusion on social network sites about the changes on the use of a private
car brought about by Phase 0 of the State of Alarm which comes into effect
today, May 4.
One of the main doubts appears to be whether more than one person can travel in
a private car. The answer is no, driver only.
Nothing new has been introduced into Phase 0 for the use of private cars on the
public highway. The restrictions have been maintained under article 7 of the Royal
Decree 463/2020, which continues in effect.
The only exception is when transporting a disabled person, in which case they
can travel in the back seat. Use of masks is then recommended.
