Shareholders in the new regional airport in Corvera have altered the information on the official webpage and have eliminated the spring date for the start of commercial operations.
On Monday representatives from the Ministry of Promotion met with the state airport organisation, AENA, and the Minister of Public Works to discuss transferring commercial operations from San Javier to Corvera.
However, the meeting did not set a date for the opening of the new airport although the regional government is anxious to start commercial operations as soon as possible in order to recuperate its investment. On the other hand AENA aims to try and recuperate the 70 million euro investment made in San Javier.
At this rate the spring date for the opening is out of the question but the concessionary society of the new airport say it will enter into service this year offering national and flights to Europe, possibly in time for the summer holiday season.
