On a sunny Sunday in Calasparra more than 400 runners and walkers took part in the VI Charity Race and Walk «Entre Arrozales» through some of the most spectacular local countryside.
Last Sunday this traditional charity event, that has become a favourite on the local and regional agenda, coincided this year with the 400th anniversary of the DOP Calasparra Rice. Participants in the competititve race or the walking route ran or walked from the Sanctuary to and around the rice fields and back to the Sanctuary.
The participation fee of two euros per head raised funds for the charities Calasparra Se Mueve and the association «Mucho Mucho.»
Following the event the athletes were able to enjoy a traditional dish of Calasparra rice, El Pozo ham, Tio Resti cheese and beer from Estrella de Levante.
