MORE CASES CURED THAN INFECTED IN REGION

The number of patients cured in the Murcia region exceeds the number of patients infected.
Some 842 patients have been cured while 790 continue to fight against the virus but in the majority of cases symptoms are mild.
Patients admitted to hospital has fallen below 100 for the first time in a month at 99 and, of these, 22 continue in Intensive Care.
In the Murcia region some 126 people have died as a result of the coronavirus, another death being reported last night.
The number of confirmed cases regionally has risen to 1,758 since the beginning of the epidemic and 17 cases have been confirmed since last Friday.
According to health experts the majority of these cases are not recent contagions but are in  patients who had symptoms for weeks but have now been tests for antibodies which confirmed the infection.
Experts warn that the number of cases may increase over the next weeks as local Medical Centres begin to test 21,000 people with mild symptoms.
Currently these tests are taking place in five Medical Centres and some 15% have proved positive. Another 2 to 30000 are expected to be confirmed over the coming weeks.
The Regional Health Authority had received 40,000 test kits and additional 10,800 yesterday. Some 20,000 of kits were withdrawn as they gave “false positives.”
