The Government has approved a Royal Decree Law today with economic and social measures to help people struggling to pay their bills due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The measures aim to guarantee protection for families and vulnerable people by extending a moratorium on bills until the end of September.
The measures include a moratorium on mortgages on the habitual residence, commercial properties and those destined for the rental market.
A moratorium on consumer credit.
Six month extension on rental contracts for habitual residences.
Moratorium, postponement of rent payments or total or partial cancellation of rental contracts where the landlord owns ten or more properties (gran tenedor).
Guarantees domestic properties will not have supplies cut off due to nonpayment of utility bills (includes water).
