MINUTE´S SILENCE FOR MURCIA FIRE VICTIMS

Calasparra will respect a minute´s silence to be held at 12 midday today in all the region´s Town Halls and institutions for the tragedy affecting three discoteques in Murcia in the early hours of Sunday morning and which cost 13 lives.
The Autonomous Regional Government of Murcia has called three days of mourning with all flags at half mast at all public buildings from today, October 2 to October 4.
The fire originated on the second floor of the Theatre Discoteque, where a birthday party was being held, and spread quickly to two other discoteques. Party goers on the second floor were caught in the flames and were unable to escape, according to a spokesperson.
The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning, caused the roof of the Theatre Discoteque to collapse complicating the rescue work.
During the morning it became clear that 14 of the 15 victims, who were counted as «disappeared,» had reached hospital in the area under their own steam.
This terrible tragedy has stunned the Murcia region, costing the lives of 13 young people and leaving another four people  injured.
