The Met Office has raised the Hot Weather Warning from Yellow to Orange for today, Wednesday, July 8, between 1pm and 9pm, for the North West region of Murcia that includes Calasparra.
Tempèratures may rise to 40 to 41C here in Calasparra.
Recommendations for staying safe during these sweltering days are:
Drink water frequently and avoid sugary drinks and alcohol
Use protective sun cream and wear a hat and loose, light clothing
Avoid exposure to the sun and intense exercise during the hottest periods
Pay attention to elderly people, children and pets. Do not leave them in a parked car for any period of time.
Stay in cool places or with air conditioning
