Semana Santa in Calasparra has been, once again, a time of faith and tradition that filled the streets with emotion, spiritual retreat and beauty.
From the grave sound of the tambor (traditional drum) in the early morning to the slow advance of the thrones watched attently by their followers, there was a heartbeat of sentiment in every corner of the town.

The statues, carried with devotion by their «cofradias» (religious brotherhoods) passed through the narrow streets wrapped in the scent of incense and the murmer of prayers. The silence also uttered the words of the prayers and the music caressed hearts.
The nights shone with candles and emotions while the sun bathed the passes of the most solemn. Calasparra not only has remembered the Passion but has lived every moment as if it was the first time with emotion that has been transmitted from generation to generation.
