Traditional
dance and music filled the streets of Calasparra last Sunday the town hosted
the V Meeting of regional Folklore Groups.
The OAPs Centre in Cieza joined our own Rondalla OAPs Group in a procession
from the Rice Growerr´s Fountain to the Plaza de la Corredera where they gave a
comprehensive demonstration of traditional music and dance, including
“malagueños” and jotas.
There was also an opportunity to taste local gastronomy; try out traditional
games; and appreciate handmade jewelry.
The Head of the Department of Equality, Cristina Ruiz, and the Head of
Municipal Promotion, Mari Carmen Carmona, attended the event and presented a
trophy to the two participating groups.
