The Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, visited Project “Ardilla” (squirrel)whih is working to repopulate a section of the Sierra de Molino ravaged by fire in the big fire two years ago.
Three percent, some 18 hectares of the 600 hectares destroyed by the fire, is being replanted with 22,000 trees and plants funded by the company, Red Electrica.
The Mayor underlined that natural regeneration of flora on the lower slopes was already underway.
Red Electrica, which has already invested 65,000 euros in the project, is reportedly interested in another phase of the regeneration project.
