MAYOR ASKS FOR MORE HELP TO AVOID FLOODING

The Mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez, has held meetings with the Director General of Water, Andrés Martínez Francés, to discuss various different projects to improve the drinking water supply, sewage systems, drainage and sanitation in the town.
During the meeting the Mayor underlined the importance of expanding the current drainage systems to avoid flooding during torrential rain.
They also discussed the work on the new 155,654 euro drainage system at La Daya, which has recently started and will improve the santitation system for 8,000 residents who live near the banks of the river Argos.
The Mayor also held a meeting with the Director General of Education Centres, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, and highlighted the need to invest 50,000 euros improvements at the Pedreras Primary School.
