Calasparrra Town Hall has joined the protest to save the Mar Menor and is collecting signatures on a petition for a law which will recognize and protect the special character of the «laguna» and surroundings.
In two days time, on October 8, in Murcia a massive demonstration has been organised in various parts of the city with more than 185 different groups taking part.
Demonstrations will also take place simultaneously in Brussels, Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao.
Ecologists in Action, the environmental action group, say Mar Menor is in a «critical state after years and years of inaction.».
