Local Police and the Guardia Civil have arrested 27 people in Calasparra, seized materials for the sale of drugs, luxury cars, arms and cash as well as confiscating three plantations of marijuana.
In a joint operation with Cehegin some 150 officers also arrested six people in Cehegin and uncovered a plantation of marijuana.
This new blow to drug trafficking in Calasparra and Cehegin was carried out by local police, Guardia Civil and included officers from Madrid and Valencia, and drug sniffing dogs.
At 4.30am on Wednesday the searches began, initially at 16 locations in Calasparra including houses, garages and warehouses, in the area near the Castle and other parts of the municipal area.
In the early hours of the morning the searches also began in Cehegin where five houses were searched in the Calles Camino Verde, Carmen Conde and Jose Sanchez Fernandez and another street in the old town.
The Number 3 Court in Caravaca is currently investigating the matter in “secret summary”.
