The Emergency Services received a call for assistance at 7pm on Saturday evening when a lorry trailer caught fire and the driver’s efforts to extinguish it failed.
The incident happened on the RM-714 at five kilometre point from Calasparra.
Fire fighters, the local police and the Guardia Civil attended the incident.
An ambulance was called and the driver was treated for smoke inhalation but didn’t need hoospital treatment.
