A young Calasparrian, who habitually runs in the annual encierros, was gored badly in his thigh today after he slipped as he attempted to mount a safety barrier in Calle Lavador and fell into the path of one of the bulls.
Another young runner bruised his back after falling but was able to rejoin the festivities after being treated and checked at ehe infirmary at the bull ring.
The bull run was rapid, just under three minutes, and one bull careered ahead of the group for Calle Lavador where the serious incident happened. The bull´s horn gored a 15 cm wound in the back of the youth´s thigh and medical staff at the bull ring infirmary operated before transferring him to hospital in Murcia.
Tomorrow the bull run will be at 6pm and on Sunday at 11am after the horseback «Vereda» from the countryside outside the town.
