Shops and businesses in Calasparra have launched the ‘El Rutero Calasparreño’ with a 300 euro cash prize as part of their campaign to encourage shopping locally.
The local Trade Association has presented the third edition of the «Rutero» being celebrated from now to March 9. Residents of Calasparra can collect «stamps» on the rutero coupon for minimum purchases of 5 euros. Once 12 stamps have been collected the coupon can be deposited in any urn in any participating shop or business. On March 17 there will be a prize draw of the coupons to find the winner of the 300 euros prize.
On March 6 local shops and businesses will display their wares in the «Rosales Boulevard» in the Plaza de Los Abastos (where the weekly fruit and vegetable market is held).
There will be children´s games, air hockey, archery and other activities supervised by monitors.
At 5pm there will be a magician and a bar zone with an opportunity to taste local rice dishes.
The Rosales Boulevard will open at 11am and close at 7pm.
