The fiestas in
September are a combination of celebrations for the town of Calasparra and
celebrations to mark the annual pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of
Hope.
Thus there are two opening speeches and the first, in the hands of the local
priest, took place in the Sanctuary square earlier this week.
After the speech the Association Band of Music gave an open air concert to mark
the beginning of fiestas.
