The local police will coopperate with the local Department of Education to prevent, detect and solve problems of bullying in schools in Calasparra.
The move follows some high profile cases of bullying in the national press and statistics which demonstrate bullying is a major problema in Spanish schools.
A special post of Police Tutor will be created to deal with bullying; mediate in conflictive situations; inform, prevent and advise in respect of certain conducts; act on information about the consumption of drugs and other substances; intervene when alcohol and tobacco is being consumed or used; act on cases of bullying; intervene in cases of grooming etc; and act on cases of truancy.
The local police, the Department of Education and the heads of the local schools met this week to discuss the new strategy.
