Local police officers arrested two men in the early hours of Monday morning for alledged attempted burglary with force at the Municipal Bull Ring.
The officers were called to the scene by a local resident at 4am who reported a suspicious vehicle near the Bull Ring. They immediately attended the scene and surprised two people loading objects into a vehicle and who, on seeing the police, attempted to make their escape in the vehicle.
After chasing the vehicle through the town, until the suspects abandoned it after it broke down in the town centre, the police gave chase on foot, catching and arresting the suspects.
Following the arrest the officers returned to the suspects’ vehicle where they found various units of air conditiioning and other industrial material.
The suspects appeared before magistrates the same morning.
