The most traditional of local fiestas in Calasparra began in the customary manner with floral tributes, traditional costumes and a street parade:
The 15th Ceremony of the Floral Tributes to the Patron Saints of Calasparra, St Abdon and Senen, underlines the colourful joyous nature of these fiestas.
The Saints church was crammed with «fiesteros,» many in traditional dress, to take part in the cermony and witness the 10th Crowning of the King and Queen of the Fiestas.
The OAPs music group, The Rondalla, sang the mass and accompanied the street parade with music and traditional dance.
