The latest statistics for the North West region of Murcia, which includes Calasparra, show 431 possible cases of contagion and 328 cases of close contact are being monitored telephone by medical staff.
In the Murcia region as a whole today´s statistics are 714 confirmed cases; 53 in intensive care; 15 deceased; and 12 cured.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH REPORT ON COVID-19
In today´s report from the Ministry of Health on the level of contagion in Spain statistics show that men of an average age of 58 years are over represented. The presentation of under 25´s, of both sexes with the virus is very low and the number of imported cases has fallen by 51% to less than 5% according to the latest analysis carried out yesterday.
The most frequent symptoms are fever, cough, breathing difficulties and shivering. Apart from these general symptoms 20% present with digestive diarrhea or vomiting.
The average period between symptoms and diagnosis is four days.
According to the latest information the lethality rate of Covid-19 is 3.8% with a range of 0% for minors of 15 and under and up to 15% for people over 80 years:
The ministry of Health warns that these statistics should be treated with caution as the calculation of deaths from the virus is variable and needs to be confirmed by further analysis.
HOW TO STAY SAFE
The restrictions on freedom of movement require us to stay at home and only go out to buy essential basic supplies; go the doctor or hospital; assist an elderly or vulnerable person in the community; go to and from work in essential services.
Only one person is allowed per vehicle unless transporting an elderly or vulnerable person, in which case they should travel in the back seat.
Walking your dog is permitted.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES WHEN RETURNING HOME
If you have been walking your dog disinfect your pet´s paws on returning to your house. The virus can survive for long periods on tarmac and other surfaces.
When you get home don´t touch anything:
Wash you mobile phone and glasses with alcohol or soap and water.
Take off your outside shoes and leave them outside (in the porch etc)
Take off your outside clothing and put in a bag for washing
Shower, or if not possible, wash exposed areas
Leave your bag, keys etc in a box by the front door
Wipe the surfaces of all purchases with bleach/wash fruit and vegetables
Remove plastic gloves in a safe manner and dispose of them
Wash your hands, wrists etc with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
We remind you that these measures are not fail safe but will reduce the possibility of the virus entering your home.
The best possible manner to avoid the virus is to stay at home and avoid contact with anyone.
If you must go out keep a safe, one or two metres, distance from anyone else, do not enter small shops if another person is inside and obey restrictions and other measures in the supermarkets.
