The ArcoIris Association of Calasparra aims to support children and young people with special educational needs in Calasparra.
Juana Dolores Ruíz and Manoli García, spokespersons for the Association, want to establish a meeting point for families with children with conditions such as dislexia and hyperactivity, amongst other disorders, and offers services which include psychology, play theraphy, phsiotheraphy and special education.
The Association has organised different workshops for children with or without disorders in order to promote integration and avoid discrimination. There are places available now in handicrafts, painting and theatre. There are also discussion groups for parents.
The headquarters of ArcoIris is the Nuevo Pozo Social Centre, behind the Health Centre.
