The local Consumer Office celebrated the International Day of the Consumer yesterday, March 15, by announcing it had saved consumers in Calasparra some 23, 000 euros during 2015.
In 2015 some 1509 people consulted the Consumer Office which sent 135 claims forms on their behalf. Some 14 claims were sent to the Office of Arbitration and many other complaints were resolved by telephone.
Most complaints concerned electricity, mobile phones, gas, Internet and water. Other complaints were about insurances including death, home and car.
In the goods section many complaints referred to the purchase of mobile phones, vehicles and electric domestic appliances.
In the services section complaints centred on transport, including flights, and the postal service.
