Some 14.000 people are expected to benefit from a 99% discount on inheritance tax to be introduced next year in the Murcia region.
The discount, on donations and inheritances, is expected to save Murcians some 53 million euros.
The discount currently stands at 60% but the Region is committed to significantly reduce the “unjust tax” on inheritances and donations to parents, spouses and children.
The legal requirement to register inheritances and donations with the Notary (escritura publica) will also be lifted, thus reducing costs.
Properties which border on Almería, Albacete and Alicante will still be subject to full inheritance tax.
