Building work will begin on Monday at the Parish Rooms of St Peter´s Church to transform them into multi-use spaces for church activities and meetings.
The project should be finished by August and may be officially opened in October.
Although the church has fought for the last eighteen months for a local company to carry out the work this has not been possible, says a church spokesperson.
The tendering process was in the hands of the Bishop not the local church.
The work will include two rooms with capacity for 50 people, seven smaller rooms for church activities and a small oratory. There will be three toilets on the ground floor and two on the first.
