Electricity prices have risen by a massive 7%, natural gas by 5% and the butane bottled gas by 2.9% from April I.
The rise in electricity prices is the biggest since January 2011 when they increased by 9.8% and will affect 20 million domestic customers and small businesses. The rise represents around 40 euros extra a year for the average household whose bills are already approximately 800 euros annually.
The 2.9% rise on butane bottled gas brings the price up to 15.53 euros and will affect between eight and ten million households.
