The pupils of the IES Emilio Pérez Piñero Theatre Group are travelling to Castellón this weekend to take part in a new edition of CaixaEscena, a programme to promote drama in schools.
The director of the group, Antonia Martínez Llorente, told Radio Calasparra listeners today that the participation of these pupils in the project would favor their development through practical drama encouraging respect, expression, cooperación, teamwork, effort and initiative as well as promoting an interest in theatre arts beyond the context of the school syllabus.
Some 30 pupils will take part in the plays:The Dreammaker, and their own production, The Magical Universe of Mythology.
There will be an opportunity to see the group perfcorming the two plays in Calasparra on April 2 and 16.
