The summer ban on burning garden or farm waste has been introduced as the level of risk for forest fires in the Murcia region is raised to “very high”.
It is also completely prohibited to burn anything in or near the “monte” (hillsides and countryside).
The emergency services depend on us to stay alert so if you see smoke or fire please call 112.

There is a general prohibition on burning garden and farm waste in place, introduced by the Murcia region to try and reduce contamination during the Covid epidemic. The local authorities have had a fairly benevolent attitude to this order, however, this will not be the case with this annual summer burning ban, which is designed to protect our mountains and countryside from any more devastating forest fires.
