The Guardia Civil of the Murcia region mounted «Operation Aurora,» an investigation started to uncover the existence of a plantation of fruit trees of a patented variety in orchards in Calasparra, and which culminated in the investigation of two alleged authors of crimes against industrial property.
The operation began in April when a commercial society, dedicated to the management of vegetable licences, presented a complaint to the Guardia Civil concerning the possible existence of a plantation of nectarines of a protected variety and without the corresponding authorization in orchards in Calasparra.
Officers from SEPRONA opened the operation and when carrying out inspections of local agricultural areas found more than 2,000 fruit trees which coincided with the complaint. They collected samples which were analyzed in a specialist laboratory and were found to correspond to protected varieties.
