GRAND MEDIEVAL PARADE SLIDE SHOW

This weekend saw Calasparra at its finest, in full fiesta, with more than 200 people taking part in costume, in the Grand Medieval Parade.
After weeks of rain the evening sun shone on history, colour, music and culture in the streets of our town.
The protagonsts of the day were the protagonists of the history of Calasparra; Sancho IV, Queen María, King of Granada Aboadile, and the Commander, Fernant Pérez, Grand Commander of the Hospital at the head of the parade,
Also taking part was the dance group, Espiga de Oro; a Squadron of Christian Ladies; the Medieval Hornpìpe;  a Court of local people in costume for the occasion; five musical groups; the Calasparrian Charanga;  “Los Pijoteros” (jestors); and groups from various points of the Murcia region such as groups of soldiers (arabs and christians)  and the Calasparrian Crossbowists on horseback.
The Parade also marked the Day of the Region last Friday June 9.
