Following yesterday´s reports that the regional government was negotiating with AENA to agree 70 milliion euros compensation for the closure of San Javier airport, the Ministry of Promotion has flatly denied the closure plans.
The Ministry statement reads: “We deny that there is any agreement or negotiations with a view to closing San Javier airport for 70 million euros.”
The Ministry has declared that its sole aim is to defend the interests of AENA (the airport authority), the workers at the airport and the social economic environment of the airport.
