GENERAL STRIKE ON NOVEMBER 14

A General Strike has been called in Spain for Wednesday November 14 and will coincide with a European day of action against cuts and austerity measures.
The largest trade unions, the CCOO and the UGT, are calling on the population to respect the strike “without fear.”
A spokesperson says: “There are more than two million people nationally without any income at all. This is the result of the economic policies over the last two and a half years.” Unemployment has almost reached the six million mark
This will be the second General Strike called during the current government of Rajoy and the eight in the history of Spain.
The unions have declared: “That no strike, no matter how big, can damage the economy as much as the Government has damaged it by destroying hundreds of thousands of jobs.”
