Here are some photos which try to give you a flavour of the Carnival in Calasparra.
Fun, fantasy, imagination and not a little madness are the ingredients for a magic carnival night and Calasparra never disappoints!
There were a massive 200 participants in the Fancy Dress Parade on Saturday and the judges had the unenviable task of choosing winners amongst the fantastic array of costumes.
Some participants chose a local theme, for example the “Bosque Galeria,” other went further afield to “Havana Vieja” for example, and some went as far as outer space with “Los Jupiteños.”
First prize went to the group “ Move On” a fantasy dedicated to the magic world of the fairies. They donated their cash prize to the ArcoIris Association.
Second prize went to the Bosque Galeria and third to the Habana Vieja:
The Individual prize and mini group went to the Fantasia Pavo Real.
Congratulations to everyone who took part. Carnival in Calasparra has a long tradition of being splendidly mad and this year was no exception.
