The autonomous regional government of Murcia will begin to distribute surgical masks to the over 65´s from today, Monday April 27.
The masks may be collected from chemists free with the appropriate medical card by any member of the family.
It is not necessary for everyone to go to the chemist today. In order to avoid crowds collections should be staggered over the week.
The masks are provided with an information sheet with instructions on how to use the mask safely.

We have corrected this item after speaking to the local Medical Centre for clarification. It is NOT correct that patients over 65 years need a «electronic prescription» (as reported on the Radio Calasparra webpage) in order to collect free surgical masks. It will be sufficient to show the medical card of the person over 65 years. Two masks will be provided per person.
It is also essential the masks are used correctly. There is an illustrated sheet provided but care should be taken when putting on and taking off the mask and you should NEVER touch the inside of the mask for any reason.
