The night of the annual pilgrimage to the Sanctuary marked the first anniversary of the devastating fire on the Sierra del Molino which burned 600 acres and threatened local beauty spot Los Almadenes Canyon.
Thanks to the unfaltering work of local, regional and national fire fighters the canyon was saved but Calasparrians will not easily forget the nightmare on the penultimate night of last year’s September´s fiestas.
