Fire crews extinguished a fire in canes along the River Argos in the Los Donates area of Calasparra yesterday.
The fire alarm was raised at 6.25 pm and some 250 square metres of canes were burned before the fire was finally put out at 7.23pm.
Yesterday the Met Office issued a high alert for forest fires and fires in the countryside due to the high temperatures.
