The
National Police have issued an alert for false bank notes of five or 10 euros,
which are circulating in Spain.
The notes are very poor quality and have the phrase: “This is not legal tender,
it is used for motion props” printed on them.
The National Police have also issued a warning and photos of the notes on
Twitter. They were originally intended as film props and are easily detected.
Investigations have confirmed that notes of five, 10, 20 and 50 euros are in circulation,
although the five and 10 euro notes are most common.
Readers are warned that the use of these notes is a crime. If detected they
should be taken to the nearest police station.
