The walking route to the summit of the municipal mountain, San Miguel, was officially christened “The Path of Peace” during the traditional pilgrimage on Sunday.
Many local families, including children and their grandparents, enjoyed a day in the countryside with some of the best views in Calasparra accompanied by the aroma of fresh aroma of rosemary.
Walkers included the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, and Maria Dolores Gomariz, head of the Tourist Office.
An altar cloth for the tiny chapel at the top of San Miguel was donated by Encarna Llorente and María Navarro, and María Jiménez donated four paintings.
The officers of the Civil Protection accompanied the walkers.
