The local police have been issuing notices to some EU residents reminding them to re-register for the «padron» at the Town Hall, Calasparra, and there appears to be some confusion.
According to the Secretary (who speaks English) in the first floor EU residents have to re-register every two years. Thus this explains why some people have received notices and other have not.
If you have received a form take your passport and your NIE number to the office at the Town Hall, with the letter issued by the local police, before the date stated.
If you have not received a letter do not panic. You probably don´t need to register this year.
However, if you are concerned you can go to Town Hall office and check whether you are on the «padron». If you have been taken off, or were never on it, registering is a very simply process.
