Within a few days masks will pass from being obligatory to “recommended” in hospitals and other medical centres, chemists and residences.
The decision to finally remove the obligation to wear face masks in certain buildings has been taken after regional governments reached an agreement with central government. However, it must be ratified by the Council of Ministers before it comes into effect and this is likely to take a few days.
The decisión is based on the advice of experts and epidemologists who advise that the masks make no longer make a difference due to the high immunity of the population after the Covid vaccination campaign and the good evolution of the pandemic.
