Calasparra
Town Hall held the first “Day of Efficient Use of Agricultural Water” in the
local library on Saturday as part of the Agriculture and the Environment Cycle.
The event was directed by the Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, and among those
present were the Government Delegate, Francisco Jiménez and the President of
the Segura Water Board, Mario Andrés Urrea:
There was a presentation by the Director
General of the Department of Water, Agriculture, Stockbreeding, Fish and the
Environment at CARM, Sebastián Delgado Amaro.
Also taking part were Miguel Martínez Alcázar, President of the Farmers Union
of the Tajo Segura Water Transfer of
Calasparra and Cieza; Alejandro Pérez Pastor of the University Polytechnic in
Cartagena; and Manuel Navarro Sánchez of the Official College of Agronomic
Engineers for the Murcia Region.
The day revolved around the importance of water for the region of Murcia and
the special development in the ambit of agriculture of maximum water efficiency.
