The Ecological vegetable stall returns to Friday´s street market after the summer break and offers the quality and taste of produce grown without any artificial or chemical fertilizers or pest and plague controls.
Now the savage August sun has calmed down the vegetables in the garden able to thrive.
This week there will be carrots, beetroot, Swiss chard, aubergines, celery, tomatoes, cucumber, courgettes, green peppers and the thistle leaves the locals use to make traditional vegetable stews.
Prices are pinned back to an absolute minimum in these days of financial constraint and Salvador insists: “No-one on the market will sell vegetables cheaper than me and no stall can match the quality and taste.”
The stall, on the corner outside the Sangui supermarket, will be open from 7.30am and customers are advised to shop early to avoid disappointment.
